Meeting Minutes

November 9, 2010

The meeting was cal= led to order at 6:30 by Vice-President Theone Hutchman In attendance: Roz Shroy= er, Judy Sargent, Theone Hutchman, Melanie Adams, Dale Stanley, Janie Tilton, Sunny Arruda, J= es Sothern, Buzzy Alfano and Karen Michalski.

Minutes from the October meeting were approved with the following change: The PMSC is conside= red a tax exempt organization but we do not have a non-profit status as far as donations are concerned, we cannot give a receipt for donations.

Presidents Repor= t:

1. Stella was going to talk about the new AKC Breeder of= Merit program but the discussion was tabled until the= next meeting in her absence. Every one should get there own grooming spaces. Stella wants to have= a board meeting either prior to or after the Christmas Party at Buzzy’s Dec 4^th. She will let = the board members know.

Secretary’= s Report: Sweeps judge Jul= ie Cooper sent an email confirming her reservation and shared her boy’s = wins in Colorado. Roz sent new officers to AMSC and to AKC.

Treasurer’= s Report:

Send du= es in arrears notices to be sent out the beginning of December and the donations = from the Walk need to be sent. A cover note needs to be sent along with the check. Sunny and Jes to get information to Dale.

Committee Report= s:

Spec= ialty 2011: Troph= ies have all been purchased and are at Jill’s Faulma= nn’s, getting embroidered.

Annu= al Awards: The= re are 4 Conformation awards for this year, 2 CGC awards and 1 Obedience

Membership Commi= ttee: Everyone welcomed guest Melanie Adams to the meeti= ng and invited her to come to the Christmas Party. She was given a membership packet and application.

Election of New Member: Sunny again read Laurie Moore’s application. Theone asked for a vote on Laurie’s member ship and she was unanimously approved as a new member of the Club. Sunny will contact her.

Trophies & G= ifts: Roz said the coats and towels have been purc= hased for the January Specialty. Jill Faulmann = is doing the embroidery on all. Theone brought up that we still have about 50 gift ba= gs left over from the National specialty and asked if we could use them as an additional hand out for the regular classes since we do not have any note p= ads left. After a discussion a motion was made and passed to use the bags from the National for the 2011 show. We need to retrieve mugs and gift bags for the show. After passing around the trophy sheet there are st= ill three $35 trophies and two $19 trophies that still need to be sponsored.

Political= : Jes report= ed that the Missouri proposition B passed be only 2%. This bill dubbed a puppy mill as a crime but since “puppy mill” has not been defined so it leaves a lot for interpretation.&nbs= p; Hopefully with the shift in politics it will be amended. PUPS bill has not gone anywhere so far.

Chri= stmas Party:=

Buzzy g= ot a head count, new members and guests need to be invited also. She also = got menu items people are bringing. Gift exchange gifts should be under $20.00 if you want to participate and should be dog related. Attire should be very casual. Anyone not at the meeting who will be bringing= a dish to share should contact Buzzy. The date has been changed to Dece= mber 4^th starting at 1:00 pm.

Social committee= & RDO Day: Cynthia was not at the meeting.

Prog= rams:

Theone = asked for suggestions. Jes mentioned that 3 programs would be good. O= ne health, one for pet owners and one for show people

Suns= hine – Janie had nothing to repo= rt.

Web Page<= em>: Jes asked people to check the breeder referral p= age to make sure things were accurate. She also highlighted one of the re= scue dogs needing a home. Still a work in progress.

Unfinished Busin= ess:

2011 Specialty – <= span style=3D'color:black'>everything is OK and ready to go. <= /o:p>

Trailer –<= /span> lights were check= ed and trailer was moved to Cynthia’s. Someone should get a couple of those chemical packs that absorb moisture for the trailer.

New Business:

Judy Sargent will mark the show Catalog for the specialty.=

2 Show = pictures will be ordered one for the winner and one for the club.<= /p>

Shirt design for= 2011 Walk: Stella emailed a design from Stephanie for next years shirts. The members looked it over and though= t it was great. Colors discussed were light teal and light burgundy. Chr= is needs to get some samples of varying shades of teal and burgundy and get to Cynthia so she can bring them to the party. Buzzy said she would get = some samples from someone she knows also. The board will discuss at next b= oard meeting. The design will be black and white and if it doesn’t c= ost too much more the light bulb could be yellow. Dale said that the shir= ts cost about $1900. last year. Theone has the shirts from past years so they would not get moldy in the trailer.
