| Clackamette Park in Oregon City |
| The Schnauzer Walk is held each summer in Clackamette Park, just southeast of Portland, Oregon. It's a fun, relaxed affair, and the most important things to bring are your Schnauzer, lawn chair and picnic lunch! |
| And what if you don't have a Schnauzer yet? The Walk is a great place to learn all about them. Get started at the Information Booth. |
The Schnauzer Walk includes:
Information Booth
Rescue Information Booth
Presentation of Rescue Dogs
Leash Training Demonstration
Grooming Demonstration
Portrait Booth
Confidence Course (Agility and Rally)
AKC Canine Good Citizen Program
Raffle for Gift Baskets and other Great Prizes
Contests for Best Singer, Dancer, Trick and Costume
Awards for Eldest Dog, and Dog and Owner that Traveled the Farthest
| And of course the walk itself, a parade through the park of proud dogs and owners! |
| Don't worry if your Schnauzer isn't perfectly trained yet. You won't have the only dog that barks and pulls toward other dogs to play. But in order to have a safe, orderly event, we must be strict in requesting that you keep your dog under control on a leash of six feet or less. And that you clean up after your dog. |
| All sizes of Schnauzers are welcome, Miniature, Standard and Giant. But please only bring Schnauzers to the Schnauzer Walk. |
| This webpage provides information on location, registration, and the schedule of events. After looking it over, please send any questions you have to Walk@PMSC2.org. |
| Registration |
| A $20 registration fee includes a Schnauzer Walk t-shirt and participation in all activities except the portrait booth, confidence course, and Canine Good Citizen test, which have additional fees as described below. A portion of all fees goes to Miniature Schnauzer health research. | |
| If you heard about the Walk at the last minute, you are welcome to attend without pre-registering. However, like anyone planning an event, we would like as many as possible to pre-register. And we can only guarantee that we will have a t-shirt for you if you pre-register. | |
| Registration forums will be posted here June 2010. | |
